Wedding Essentials: Five Things to Remember for Your Wedding Day
Getting married is one of the happiest days in a woman’s life. It takes months of preparation and planning to make the big day just right. However, when it comes down to the wedding day itself details that seemed so small have become a bride’s nightmare. When it comes to having bridal brain, here are five essential things to remember on your special day:
1. Getting Ready Attire
Getting ready for the wedding is a big deal. Make sure you are getting ready in an outfit that you feel comfortable in but consider the photography that happens during that getting ready process. Yes ladies, the photos start snapping at the beginning of the day. Consider purchasing a nice robe or something that will be easy to step in and out of when it comes time to step into that white gown.
Every bride wants to look her best on her big day and dark circles under the eyes or a pallid complexion is not part of that. Understandably it can be a challenge to put those butterflies to rest the night before the biggest day of ones life. Try drawing a long bath or warm shower using bath products that contain essential oils such as lavender or bergamot. Drink a hot cup of chamomile tea or meditate and release stressful thoughts.
Don’t forget to eat before and during the wedding. It is incredibly important even if it may seem impossible to sneak a bite in between all of the hugs and hellos. Start the day off with a healthy breakfast that will give you energy throughout the morning until the afternoon when it’s time for the evening meal. If your dinner menu is buffet style make sure to choose one of your bridesmaids to fix you a plate while you converse with guests.
4. Comfortable shoes for the reception
Think ahead and pack a pair of comfortable shoes for the reception party. Consider some sparkly flats or even Toms that will make it easy to bust a move in with your new hubby. Too many brides will forget a good pair of flip flops and will kick their gorgeous shoes to the curb to be barefoot. Avoid having dirty feet at the end of the night and pick out your perfect reception shoes!
5. Emergency Kit
Before the big day make sure to put together an emergency kit that consists of essential wedding day items. Ideally the kit should contain extra make-up, hairspray, clear nail polish for snags, safety pins, bobby pins, breath mints, a comb, scissors, compact mirror, and anything else you deem appropriate to eliminate wedding stress.
