Glamour Makeup Tips

In terms of eye makeup, is there anything sexier and more sophisticated than the classic smokey-eye look? Definitely not! That’s why almost every page of today’s magazines feature a beautiful model or a celebrity sporting (what else?) the smokey-eye look! If you feel you’re ready to join this fabulous club, and you too want to master this technique, you came to the right place! Simply follow the six easy steps using our TRUE mineral makeup below and before you know it, you’ll be rocking this gorgeous look!

Step 1: Getting Your Eyes Ready

Begin by applying a light shade of TRUE mineral concealer under the eye area and across the top lid. Our TRUE mineral concealer features three shades to customize your flawless look while concealing under

eyes, blemishes, and highlighting. Also, we have TRUE shadow primer that will prepare your eyelids for the shadow and provide lasting color.

Step 2: Adding the Shadow

Apply a dark shadow like TRUE’s Obsidian, Zinc or Lava using the TRUE eyelid contour brush. Next, apply a lighter shadow such as TRUE’s Myrrh, Ivory or Lotus in a neutral tone with the TRUE eye shadow brush. Encircling the upper eye area is sure to soften and graduate the outward corners for that perfect blended look.

Step 3: Using the Liner/Adding Mascara

First, line the top and bottom rims with an eye pencil (TRUE liner in Express/Refl ect for a brown smokey eye or Ying/Yang for a sultry black eye), paying close attention to going into the lash line itself. With the

TRUE liner diffuser brush, move back and forth along the lash line to soften the eye pencil line. If you have small eyes, apply liner starting from the middle of the under eye to the outside of the eye. If your eyes are large, feel free to line from corner to corner. Add mascara (try our new HY-Performance mascara in Obsidian) to experience volume, length and curl.

Step 4: Cleaning up the “Territory”

Brush away any shadow that has fallen below the eye with the TRUE shadow diffuser brush. Make sure to blend up and outward to diffuse where shadows begin and end.

Step 5: Going Super Dramatic

Want a more dramatic look? Add more shadow and false eyelashes. If you are looking for the most dramatic effect, be sure to curl those lashes and apply two or three coats of TRUE’s Obsidian mascara. Hint: Want your eyes to look larger? Pull your liner upward when lining your bottom lashes instead of out from the top line. This will make your eyes look larger and rounder.
