Workout Wednesday Tip: Less is More!
Less is more rule! Don’t spend hours at the gym wasting time on your cell phone or wandering around aimlessly. Go in with a plan. Know what you are going in to accomplish and focus on getting it done! Thirty efficient minutes are much more productive than an hour of apathy.

We are in our 3rd week of wellness workouts on “Sacramento & Company” with Adam Attia from Arden Hills Resort Club & Spa and hopefully everyone at home has been watching and exercising along with us!! He’s giving great workouts that anyone can do at the gym, or at home, plus nutrition tips just in time to get yourself in shape for bathing suit weather!!!
What you haven’t seen is behind the scenes when I get the opportunity to train one on one with him at the facility. And let me tell you, Adam is not messing around. I’ve had 2 full weeks with him now and I’m pretty sure my body is in complete shock wondering what the heck I am doing to it!! His routines are never the same, and I go into them full of energy and wanting to impress this guy who by the way, works out like 8 days a week, but right around the 23 minute mark of our 30 minute session, I swear I am going to either pass out, or throw up on the mat. And I say this with lovingness, it’s an awesome feeling!!! I’m a complete believer now in the notion of getting a complete workout with 30 minutes of non-stop exercise (with Adam’s brief 60 seconds of relief).
The last 2 weeks has me believing that Adam is in love with squats, because there has not been one single workout where he has not made my legs feel like jello!!! Last week – tons of lunges…this week, we did squats with weights, squats over a ball, squats with weights again, and so on!! Lucky for me, my legs are actually the only thing on my body I consider to be in great shape, so I have bounced back from all the squats surprisingly well!! My only problem is with technique and I have the hardest time bending all the way down while keeping my chest upright. Normally I would blame it on being top heavy, but Adam wouldn’t let me place any blame and does not accept “I can’t” as a proper use of vocabulary, so my homework is to work on my technique.
He’s also introduced me to a ridiculous amount of sit-ups and core exercises to help in the middle section, which c’mon…all of us women have issues with!! I will be the first one to admit that once you are over the age of 35, stuff just does not hold up the same!!! Even if you have great legs and arms, that darn middle section will get you every time. It is definitely the bane of my existence, so hopefully with the help of Adam pushing me to do more sit-ups, combined with at least 3 days a week of cardio, I can trim that tummy down just a tad before my big trip to Mexico in 2 weeks!! Now I suppose the next step would be making sure I’m not making Jack in the Box runs at 2am!
Overall, this is one of the best experiences I have ever had with a trainer!! Keep watching as Adam tortures, I mean trains me, every Wednesday in July on “Sacramento & Company”, and if you’ve missed any of our sessions, you can always catch them online:

Until next week!!!
