<description>So if you’ve been following my exercise routine with Adam Attia on “Sacramento &amp; Company” every Wednesday on News10 at 9am, then you know Adam is relentless and gives great workout advice!!!

After our first on-air appearance together last Wednesday when he made me do the infamous “burpies”, he invited me to come to Arden Hills Resort Club and Spa to check out the facilities and get in some one on one time. First, if you’ve never been there, you must go see it for yourself. I have to admit that I belong to one of those “other” gyms and thought to myself that I would never be tempted to switch gyms, but after seeing the facility, I am thinking twice. The equipment was very nice with tv’s in front of all cardio gear, a basketball gym, yoga room, weight room, tennis courts and the best part of all – a pool that rivals the one at Hearst Castle!

My journey began in the women’s locker room which is bigger than my house by the way, where I was already feeling extremely relaxed and ready for my workout with Adam. The locker room is spacious and lovely with sauna rooms, showers, a doorway to the spa and an indoor small Jacuzzi with a flat screen television to watch….why would I want to leave this to work out??

I did a quick 10 minute warm up before Adam came and whisked me away upstairs to begin our first official workout together. He asked me about my physical ability (which by the way isn’t too shabby), what I currently do to stay in shape (that was funny), and what I typically do at that other gym. He then explained to me that the way he likes to work is to get a quick workout in, instead of spending hours at the gym. Now this I can relate to…I mean, I need to get home in time to watch “The Bachelorette” right?

We proceeded into the weight/workout room and he said “Are you ready Jodie?”. Now let me tell you, I pride myself on having a lot of stamina, but I’m just not in the same shape I was in High School and College when I played on the volleyball team. We started out with some simple pull downs, then leg raises, and into some crunches. Adam was a great trainer – showing me the right way to work the weights, when to exhale, what to contract along the way and the best form. We would do one set of 12-15 reps for each exercise then move directly into the next. I was quite proud of myself, and Adam was praising me telling me how great I was doing! I’m sure he says that to all the clients, but none-the-less it was appreciated.

He wasn’t kidding about 20 minutes of non-stop work!!!! I was skeptical that you could get a full body workout with results in 20 minutes, but by the end, not only was I exhausted, red-faced, and ready to throw up…but my body felt tighter and I had a glow about me that wasn’t just perspiration. After another 30 minutes of cardio, I was done. Imagine that…one hour to fitness!!!

Today we did lunge / jumping jack combos and side crunches that I felt very good about while we were doing them live on air, but now I can definitely feel the burn in my thighs! Adam is a great trainer that has motivated me to keep with the program and I hope you do too! Stay tuned for my blogs and watch Adam every Wednesday at 9am on “Sacramento &amp; Company”.
