Cherry Juice After Weight Lifting?

By Arden Hills

Cherry juice can reduce muscle pain (myalgia) and tissue damage induced by exercise, suggests a small study published in a 2006 edition of the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

The study comprised of 14 volunteers being asked to drink a cherry/apple juice blend or a dummy mixture (placebo) containing no cherry juice.

The juice blend was 12 ounces, equivalent of the juice from about 50-60 cherries.

Cherry juice is high in vitamin C and antioxidants.
